The total assets of the domestic credit institution system were worth
nearly VND6.52 quadrillion (US$310.48 billion) at the end of last year, a
12.2 per cent increase over 2013.
The total assets of banks in the country at the end of January declined
by 1.04 per cent against the end of 2013 to reach VND5,696 trillion, or
US$258.9 billion.
After a decline in the first month of the year, domestic banks are recovering and registered an increase in assets, according to the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV).
